Covid Emotional Support PSA
Role: Art Direction / Design / Animation
The Challenge
During the COVID-19 pandemic, many individuals, particularly parents and families, were experiencing increased stress and anxiety. The challenge was to create a comforting and visually engaging spot that would direct people to a helpline for emotional support, reassuring them that it was okay to seek help.
The Solution
The spot featured an illustrated woman/mother who, initially appearing worried and overwhelmed, finds a brochure with a phone number to call for counseling services. The animation then shows her speaking with a counselor and gradually feeling better, culminating in a joyful moment with her family. The message focused on the relief that comes with seeking help and the importance of taking care of mental health.
The Approach
The visuals were designed to evoke empathy and comfort. The narrative progressed from worry to reassurance, with the illustrated woman finding a simple but effective solution—speaking with a counselor. The transition from stress to happiness was conveyed through the emotional shift in her interaction with the counselor and the supportive environment of her family. The overall tone was warm and hopeful, making it clear that help was just a phone call away.
The Outcome
The PSA successfully communicated the importance of emotional well-being during a time of crisis, encouraging viewers to reach out for support. The spot provided a sense of connection and relief, promoting the idea that seeking help is a positive, empowering step toward feeling better.
